Aquaseal Rubber continues long-term partnership with North Shields FC

Formed in 1972, Aquaseal Rubber is recognised as one of the most reliable rubber manufacturers UK and global businesses choose to support their bespoke projects across several industries. Based in Longbenton, Newcastle upon Tyne, Aquaseal Rubber has supported a range of local businesses over recent years.

North Shields FC has been a prominent football club in the local area for over 100 years; they have reached the second round of the FA Cup twice in their history (1933-34 and 1982-83) and in 1969, they won the FA Amateur Cup at Wembley after beating Sutton United. More recently, during the 2014-15 season, North Shields returned to Wembley and repeated their 1969 success, beating Glossop North End 2-1 AET in the final of the FA Vase.

For the 2026-27 season, Aquaseal Rubber and North Shields FC have extended their partnership.

Managing Director of Aquaseal Rubber, Jason Armstrong, is from North Shields and used to live close to the football ground. After attending home games on a regular basis throughout his life, the partnership between Aquaseal and North Shields FC began in 2015 and has continued every year since.

Aquaseal’s contribution as an official sponsor not only raises awareness of their bespoke rubber solutions to local individuals and businesses, but the money from the sponsorship is put towards the upkeep of both the pitch and the ground itself, now known as the Daren Persson Stadium, which is located on West Percy Road in North Shields.

“We are happy to help keep the club running, even if it is just by providing two sponsor boards a year,” Jason says. “After visiting regularly to watch the matches, I know there is always such a fantastic atmosphere with the local community turning out to support North Shields FC.

“Aquaseal is delighted to continue supporting this brilliant local team, and we wish them the best of luck for the upcoming season.”

North Shields FC isn’t only a first team; North Shields Juniors AFC is also now part of the club, with the youth division an expansive and deeply integrated part of the local community.

From spanning an age range from under-7s up to under-18s, North Shields AFC also has a dedicated girls’ section to support young females wanting to get into football. They also run popular Saturday morning football skills development sessions for younger children who are just getting started in the sport, with North Shields FC Youth Team representing the main club in elite tournaments like the FA Youth Club.
